The NRHEG High School cross country teams participated in the Blooming Prairie invitational on Tuesday,  September 12.

On the girls' side, the team's top finisher was 7th-grader Julieann Wobbrock with a time of 24:00.5. That put her in fifth place overall and she won a T-shirt. She was followed by Annabelle Petsinger with a time of 26:36 (14th), Madison Corkill 28:42 (19th), Ella Jeno 29:59 (23rd) and Amelia Duryee with a time of 36:32 (34th).

For the boys, Devon Nelton took second overall with a time of 19:49, garnering him a shirt as well. Jackson McGannon had a time of 23:10 (17th), Owen Flatland 26:26 (32nd)

"This was a big day for our younger runners as they all were running at the varsity level for the first time," said NRHEG coach Larry Nydegger. "It was nice to have the girls' team able to compete and be scored. And they did a great job, taking fourth place out of six teams scored."

After hosting a home meet Tuesday, Sept. 19, the Panthers are off until Thursday, Sept. 28 when they run at Janesville's Prairie Ridge Golf Course.
