The NRHEG High School cross country teams participated at the Trail Run meet hosted by Medford at the River Bend Nature Center on Aug 25th.
The meet was attended by LeSueur-Henderson, NRHEG, USC/AC and Medford.
For the Panther girls, Holly Bartness finished the 5-kilometer course in fourth place with a time of 25:50. Teammate Annabelle Petsinger finished 10th at 28:13.
On the boys' side, Panther runners Jacob Karl and Devon Nelton took the top two spots, Jacob finishing in 19:52, Devon 20:17. Jackson McGannon finished 15th with a time of 25:00.
"It was a good first meet," said NRHEG coach Larry Nydegger. "We hope to get our younger runners more experience before bringing them up to the varsity level."
On Aug. 31, the panthers participated in the 50th Annual Bill Glomski Invitational at Bear Cave Park in Stewartville.
On the girl's side, Bartness finished with a time of 26:22 followed by Petsinger, who had a time of 27:10 in the varsity 5K race.
For the 3200-meter race, 7th-grader Julieann Wobbrock ran away from the field to take the tape nearly a full minute ahead of the second-place finisher with a time of 15:30.
Ella Jeno finished in the top 40 of the junior high 1600-meter race with a time of 7:52
For the guys, Nelton was NRHEG's best finisher with a time of 19:17 for 17th place. Karl finished close behind with a time of 19:43 for 27th place out of a race with 119 participants. McGannon rounded out the NRHEG runners with a time of 24:22.
"There were some very strong performances from our runners with Julieann, Devon and Jacob taking home awards for their efforts," said Coach Nydegger.
The Panthers run Thursday, Sept. 7 at Hayfield's Oak View Golf Course. They compete Tuesday, Sept. 12 at Blooming Prairie.
