Led by Eustice, Lenort, 10 receive conference honors
After sitting in fourth place for most of the season, the NRHEG High School clay target team moved up one spot in the last week to finish third.
Adam Eustice was the team's top shooter with a 23.6 average. He missed qualifying for the individual state tournament by just one target.
Keira Lenort topped all female shooters in the conference with an average of 22 out of 25. She was fol- lowed closely by Eva Wayne in second. These ladies were joined by Ciara Stenzel, Nora Flatness, and Gracie Luna in the Top 25 Female shooters for the conference.
Eustice finished fourth and was joined by Alden Dobberstein, Reese Routh, Ned Bell, and Sean Beauvais for the Male Top 25 conference averages.
"It was an odd season in which the first conference placings were not announced until three weeks into the five-week season," said coach Dan Sorum. "This is due to
the fact many teams up north could not access their gun clubs for the first half of the season because of snow."
The NRHEG team now advances to the Class 6A Championship in Alexandria on June 17. The nine- day tournament (one for each class) will determine the top 40 teams that will move onto the Minnesota State High School League state tournament.
