The NRHEG track and field teams competed against seven other schools in the Blooming Prairie Invitational Tuesday, April 25.
It was a good day for both squads, finishing in second place.
Mankato Loyola won the boys' meet with 123 points. The Panthers had 100.
Will Tuttle continued his stellar spring, winning the 110-meter high hurdles in 15.8 seconds and taking the 300 intermediate hurdles in 42.18 He anchored the 4x100 relay that won in 46.04, joining Aidan Deyle, Sawyer Prigge and Jaylin Raab. Deyle, Prigge, Raab and Harbor Cromwell won the 4x400 in 3:40.93. Raab went 19-6.5 to win the long jump.
Taking second were Raab, 100; Prigge, high jump; and Parker Bunn, 300 hurdles.
Other places: Tuttle, 3rd, triple jump; Levin Kitzler, 3rd, 110 hurdles; Lucas Hanna, 4th, shot put; Cromwell, 4th, pole vault; Bunn, 5th, 110 hurdles; 4x200, 5th (Bunn, Kitzer, Cromwell, Cohen Riewer); 4x800, 5th (Sam Christensen, Riewer, Charlie Fuller, Jacob Karl).
"It was a nice meet for the boys," said NRHEG coach Duey Ferber. "Our hurdlers were the stars tonight. Tuttle, Bunn and Kitzler all scored huge points. The 4x100 and 4x400 are putting up some good times. Jaylin continues to shine. We had another exciting finish in the 4x400.
JWP took the girls' title with 117 points to the Panthers' 88.
NRHEG captured three firsts, two by Evelyn Nydegger, who won the 110 hurdles in 17.55 and the 300 intermediates in 49.41. Quinn VanMaldeghem won the 700 in 2:30.31.
Sierra Misgen, Holly Bartness, Chloe Riewer and Clara Buendorf teamed for second in the 4x200. Malonna Wilson was second in the shot put.
