The NRHEG cross country teams saw their season end with the Section 2A meet at Blue Earth Thursday, Oct. 26.
The boys finished 18th among 22 schools with 496 points. Panthers’ places and times: Daniel Nydegger, 63rd, 18:40.2; Ben Lewer, 69th, 18:55; Kollin Reese, 103rd, 20:01.4; Agro Gushwa, 119th, 20:39.9; Gavin Anderson, 142nd, 22:32.9.
“Our boys competed in top form,” said NRHEG coach Mike Weber. “Daniel ran a new PR. As our senior captain and being with us for the past six years, it was rewarding for all involved to watch Ben do so well this evening. Kollin ran a PR. It was a super race for Kollin’s final cross-country event. It was good for Agro to end the season with one of his strongest outings. Gavin tied his PR with some determined running. I couldn’t be more proud of this group.”
The girls had their usual three runners. Places and times: Madisyn Bueltel, 56th, 22:09; Jade Mely, 85th, 23:21; Mia Williams, 128th, 26:29.
“Madisyn Bueltel really poured it on this last meet of the year at sections,” said Weber. “She lowered her PR by one minute. Madi had a great race from start to finish. She was in another gear tonight. Jade lowered her season’s best by a minute, while Mia dropped over a minute from her season’s best. The girls finished their season on a high note. Coaches and athletes, alike, are proud of their accomplishments this evening. We always hope for such results, but rarely does it all come together.”
for it to happen as it did today.”
