Prigge earns honor in girls’ soccer
The 2016 Waseca/NRHEG/JWP girls’ soccer team had its best season ever, finishing with a record of 12-5-1 and winning the Big South Conference for the first time in school history.
The team made it to the section semifinal game for only the second time in school history, falling to Northfield 1-0. Only graduating two seniors means that the 2017 season should be just as exciting.
Emily Prigge, a junior, was the only NRHEG student to play varsity soccer his season as Jennifer McKay was out all season with an injury. Annie Prigge and Maggie Maloney played on the JV team.
Emily Prigge was one of only two Bluejays to be named all-conference this season. She was voted Most Outstanding Leader by the coaches and a 2017 captain by the players. She was also recognized as the 2016 girls soccer team MVP at the Waseca Athletic Award ceremony held Thursday, Nov. 17.
