Lundberg no-hits Glenville-Emmons
It was a nasty way to end an otherwise great week for the NRHEG softball team.
After mowing down two more opponents to improve to 8-2 overall, the Panthers hosted WEM Thursday, May 5 in a nonconference game and lost a 7-6 decision at Legion Field.
“This was definitely our worst played game,” said coach Wendy Schultz.
The Panthers struggled defensively with six errors and had trouble connecting with runners in scoring position.
“We came out flat and kept playing catch-up ball,” said Schultz. “We put ourselves in position to win but couldn’t quite pull it out.”
Gabby Muri was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs, Paige Knudson 2-for-4 with two runs and two stolen bases. Grace Johns tripled and drove in a run. Skylar Lembke had an RBI hit.
Anna Lundberg absorbed the pitching loss, allowing two earned runs on 11 hits. She struck out six and walked two.

“Anna did a great job pitching throwing a no-hitter,” said Schultz. “Defensively, we committed no errors, which is always nice.”
