The NRHEG boys’ track and field team finished fifth in the Sub-Section 5A meet May 21. Waseca won with 274.5 points. USC/AC had 150, Maple River 132, St. Clair 97, NRHEG 85.5, JWP 50, WEM 30.
“We have an extremely tough sub-section,” said coach Duey Ferber. “The boys went hard.”
The Panthers are sending six to the Section 2A meet at Mankato West Saturday, May 30.
Junior Tyler Schlaak made it in three events, taking fourth in the 800 in 2:06.44 and fourth in the triple jump at 36-7 while running a leg on the second-place 4x800 relay that included John Cole, Nate Krause and Josh Flemming. Cole was second in the 3200 in 10:36.41.
