The Lady Panthers improved their win streak to five games last week behind a balanced scoring attack and continued strong play from their sophomores.
NRHEG downed Gopher Conference foes Maple River and Medford to improve to 7-2 in conference play. With the victories, the Panthers improved to 10-7 overall on the season.
NRHEG 69, Maple River 53
Sophomores Marnie Wagner, Rachel Collins and Maddie Wagner combined for 54 points in a 69-53 home-court win against the Eagles on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
Marnie Wagner recorded a double-double and paced the Panthers with 19 points to go along with 11 rebounds. Collins added 18 points and Maddie Wagner contributed 17 points for NRHEG.NRHEG improved to 6-2 in the Gopher Conference with the win.The Panthers’ only conference losses so far this year have both been to a tough Blooming Prairie squad while holding serve against the rest of the pack.
NRHEG 68, Medford 35
The momentum continued for the Lady Panthers on Friday, Jan. 30, as they easily downed Medford 68-35.
Eleven different players recorded baskets for the Panthers in the victory.
NRHEG trailed 10-6 early in the game but utilized a 13-0 spurt en route to building a 33-20 lead at halftime.
Maddie Wagner paced the Panthers with 17 points in the win.
Senior center Anna Stork provided 12 points to go with six rebounds, while Collins added eight points.
