Dean was born in Albert Lea Minnesota at the Naeve Hospital on September 9, 1944, to Alert and Palma (Olson) Richardson. He attended New Richland school. He was raised on a farm just outside of Hartland, Minnesota. He lost his father suddenly at a young age and had to take on the responsibility of the man of the house. Dean was known as a man who moved at the beat of his own drum. He was a lover of animals, especially his dog Spooky. Dean was known for teaching his older grandkids how to ride four-wheeler, shoot guns, fishing, cutting wood, and most of all his love for fireworks. You learned really quickly to run when you heard him yell “fire in the hole”. He enjoyed classic cars, Harley Davidson, and good ole’ music. He would give you the shirt off his back but first he would ask you if you wanted a beer. He worked for numerous trucking companies throughout his life and had a huge love for being a truck driver. It was in his blood. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him and knew him.
Dean is survived by his wife Kathy of Wells. Daughter Tracie (Billy), Son Troy, Daughter Teresa (John), Daughter Monica (Chad, and Son Lance (Kristine); Ex-daughter in law Carlie (Boyd) Kempe and their children Ethan, Josh, and Jacob; Ex-son in law Jim Lutgens; Grandchildren: Nate, Jessica, Eli [Lutgens], Corey (Nichelle), Casey (Stormi), Jordan (Brittany), Jaden, Aleena, Taya (Bryant), Paige, Meya, Veronica, Desiree, Destiny (David), Cole, Isaiah, Percy, Carter, and Gavin; Great grand kids: Grayson, Alliah, Mia, Ryker, Huxley, Gavin, and one expected arrival in Sept; Siblings: Sherman (Ramona) Richardson , Ruthanne Yegge, And Dianne Richardson; Cousins: Rodney ( Rose Ann) Olson, Julrene (Don) Thornberg, Larry Olson, Gene(Barb)Berg, Gary(Nancy) Berg, and Neil (Ranae) Berg.; Many nieces, nephews, and too many friends to count.
Preceded in death by His parents, three infant sisters, two sons, Brother in law Frank Yegge and numerous Aunts and Uncles.
Losing a loved one so tragic there are not the right words. Dean never said goodbye, he always said later. Because goodbye meant you would never see them again. Later Dad.
