Roger L. Meyer, of New Richland, Minnesota was born on June 27, 1955 in Albert Lea, the son of Elmer and Ruth (Frodin) Meyer.

He spent his life working hard and lending to anyone that might need a helping hand. His legacy will be his big heart for everyone.  Whether it be pushing someone out of a snowbank, taking soup to a neighbor, lending a listening ear, Roger was always there for others.  He never wanted to be a burden and always put others’ needs above his own.

Roger died on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at the Albert Lea Medical Center after a short, courageous battle with ALS.  He was 65.

He leaves his companion and best friend, Judy Thompson and her daughters, his special “adopted” family members Jeremy Peterson and Stephanie Weckwerth, his siblings, Pat (Larry) Farris, JoAnn Meyer, Eugene (Jodee) Meyer, Elgene Bonnes, Sharon Meyer and Dorothy Brouwers,  brother-in-law Howard (Mary Jane)  Carlsen and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister Audrey, also from ALS, and his parents.

The gathering celebrating Roger's life originally scheduled for Sunday, November 15 has been postponed. The new date will be posted on Facebook when it is determined.
