Burton Ellsworth Borchert, age 94 of Albert Lea, passed away on March 7, 2020 at Prairie Senior Cottages in Albert Lea.

Burton was born on May 23, 1925 on the family farm in Summit Township, Steele County, MN. Parents were Herman and Alma. He had to older sisters: Melinda and Bernice.

He graduated from Ellendale High School in 1943. He worked on the family farm, at a Chevrolet dealership last as parts manager, owned and operated a farm supply business, ran his own real estate sales company, and worked a variety of other service positions.

Burton fathered five children with their mother Bonnie Mae (Skogebo): Byron (Mary), Patricia (Paul) Anderson, Carolyn Schwarze (Alf Mildenberger), and Bradley and James (deceased). He had 10 grandchildren. He was later married to Oriet Ribbe until her death, and lastly to Sarah Scripture.

His greatest prides were raising his family, seeing that his children had an opportunity for advanced education, his businesses, and designing and building his dream home on an acreage east of Ellendale. He enjoyed fishing and bee keeping.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, there will be no memorial held at this time.
