Armin O. Tesch, age 96, lifelong resident of rural Waldorf, died peacefully at Whispering Creek in Janesville.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, at First Lutheran Church in Waldorf with Rev. Michael Matthews officiating. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, November 11, at Starkson & Steffel Funeral & Cremation Service-Arnoldt Chapel of Janesville. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Memorials are preferred to First Lutheran Church, Lutherans for Life or Donors Choice.

Armin Orlando Tesch was born on January 13, 1923, on the farm in Freedom Township, Waseca County to Otto and Marie (Kluender) Tesch. He was baptized at home on February 4, 1923 and confirmed in his Lutheran faith on May 30, 1937, at First Lutheran Church in Waldorf by Rev. E.H.C. Mueller. Armin was a 1941 graduate of Waldorf High School. On September 29, 1950, he was united in marriage to Darlene Proehl at First Lutheran Church in Waldorf. Together they lived and raised their family on the farm in Freedom Township where Armin farmed crops and raised dairy cows his entire life. Armin and Darlene made a wonderful team, they farmed side by side for many years and together raised five children.
Armin was a lifelong member at First Lutheran Church where he was active in Laborers for Christ, Lutheran Laymen’s League, teaching Sunday School, served on various church offices, and loved going on mission trips to New Orleans and other locations. Armin was also active in the Republican Party and Farm Bureau. Throughout his life he was a faithful husband, loving father and humble steward of the land. He never turned down an opportunity to help others in need. In his later years Armin enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Blessed be his memory.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Darlene of Waldorf; son: Martin (Jan) of Waldorf; daughters: Marilyn (Dean) Pierce of Woodbury, Kathy (Ted) Roehl of Foreston, and Bonita (Rick) Sommers of Waseca; nine grandchildren; two step grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Marie Tesch of Waseca; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Preceded in death by his parents; son, Arlen in 1981; great-granddaughter, Addison Sommers; sisters: Irmgard (Eldor) Schoenrock, and Irene (Armin) Mueller; brothers: Eldor (Hildegard) Tesch, and Harold Tesch.
The family of Armin would like to express their gratitude and appreciation for the loving and compassionate care he received over the past year from the Janesville Nursing Home and St. Croix Hospice.
