Funeral services for Mary (Theresa) Reese of New Richland, MN, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in New Richland, MN. Pastor Paul Andree will officiate. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Friedrich Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the St Olaf Cemetery, New Richland.

Theresa died Friday, July 19, 2019 at the New Richland Care Center. She was 90 years of age.

Theresa was born October 25, 1928 in Waseca County the daughter of Robert and Helen (Kvasnicka) Behne. She graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1946 and on April 8, 1947 she was united in marriage to Joyce Reese in Claremont, MN.

Theresa made her home in New Richland since 1947 and was a very active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church involved with church circle, council member and past president of the church women. She had been employed prior to marriage at JC Penny then was a clerk with Martinson Grocery and later Billings Grocery. Theresa was a founder of Telecare in New Richland and served meals on wheels. She was a member of TOPS club, loved dancing and bowled until she was 80 years old! Theresa was a seamstress, enjoyed cooking, baking and cleaning.

Theresa is survived by her husband Joyce of New Richland, MN, children Janine (Bruce) Babcock of New Hampton, Iowa, Dawn (Dale) Halgren of New Richland, MN, and Jeff Reese of New Richland, MN. Grandchildren include Chris Babcock, Amy (Carl) Snowden, Cambria (Ben) Fladager, Tyler (Tia) Halgren, Calli (Ryan) Miller, Brittney (Rich) Peters, Tasha (Bret) Cook, Cody Uecker, Joy (Josh) Reese-Drinkall, Dustin (Amanda) Reese and Jacey Reese. There are 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Peggy Uecker, son-in-law Al Schubert, grandson Cazzie Reese, daughter-in-law Carol Reese, brother Robert (Bud) Behne and sisters Ruth Knippel and Anita Kern.
