Funeral services for Elvern H. Holland of rural Ellendale, MN, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at the Hartland Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hartland, MN. Pastor Shawn Stafford will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9 until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be in the Hartland, Cemetery.
Elvern died Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Mayo Health Systems Albert Lea. He was 86 years of age.
Elvern was born November 17, 1932 in Freeborn County the son of Hans and Lillie (Miller) Holland. He attended country school in Freeborn County and on July 20, 1957 was united in marriage to Jean Bartness in Hartland, MN. Elvern farmed his whole life and enjoyed working the land and milking the cows. He was a very hard worker. Elvern was a member of the Hartland Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Ellendale Saddle Club. He enjoyed deer hunting, coon hunting, fishing the family pond, horses and especially working in his gravel pit. He loved to spend time with the grandkids attending all their various events. Elvern could be found at the gas station spending time with his many friends and neighbors.
He is survived by his wife Jean of rural Ellendale, MN, children Terry (Cindy) Holland of New Richland, MN, Tracy (Lori) Holland of Ellendale, MN, Todd (Roxanne Johnson) Holland of Hartland, MN. Grandchildren include; Matthew (Erin) Holland, Taylor (Paige) Holland, Abbey (Derek) Marzahn, Alec Holland and Nathan Holland. There are seven great grandchildren; Brock Holland, Bo Holland, Bree Holland, Lydia Holland, Oakley Holland, Josilyn Holland and Jasimyn Holland. Also surviving are three sisters; LaVonne Bartness of Faribault, MN, Annabelle Hendrickson of Minneapolis, MN, LaDonna Tollefson of Mankato, MN, brother Richard (Connie) Holland of Laguna Hills, CA, one sister-in-law, one brother-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Elvern was preceded in death by his parents, many brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law.
