Russel E. was born November 30, 1920 in Blue Earth, MN, the son of Edward and Eva (Ogilvie) Rosenau. He grew up on a farm right outside of Waldorf. He graduated from Waldorf High School. He was an electrician and worked for Steele/Waseca Electric Co-op. While working there he wired and brought electricity onto most of the farms in the Co-op area. After a time, he decided he wanted to farm. So, after marrying the love of his life, Delores M. Schroeder on June 9, 1945 in Waldorf, together, they purchased a farm south of Waldorf. Besides farming, Russel raised many hogs from birth to market. Russel would love to drive around the country side in his red pickup checking out all the crops in the area.
After retirement, he continued to be very active, volunteering to give rides for people living in Waseca County. He would take them to their doctor and/or treatment appointments in Mankato. Russel was an avid reader of all farm magazines, newspapers and his Bible. He loved to play cards with relatives and neighbors. He was a member of the Waldorf Senior Citizens group for over 30 years where he served as their treasurer. He was also a life-long member of First Lutheran Church. His favorite thing by far was dancing, which he was very good at. Russel and Delores would go dancing every chance they could several times a month.
Russel is preceded in death by his parents, son John Rosenau, two sisters Grace Hansen and Ruth Rosenau; daughter-in-law: Betty Rosenau and grandson Bradley Howman.
