Richard “Richie” H. Michaelis, 82, of Lake Shore, MN passed away from his courageous battle with leukemia on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Good Samaritan Village-Bethany in Brainerd, MN. Services for Richie will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Living Saviors Lutheran Church in Lake Shore, MN at 11 a.m. with Pastor Richard Hans officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to services at the church.

Richie was born on June 17, 1936 in Waseca, MN to Harry and Ella (Brandenburg) Michaelis. He joined the United States Army and served from 1955-1957. Richie worked as a salesman of Productivity Inc. He married Ruth Fostveit on September 21, 1957. Richie was the President of the Sportsman Club in Waseca, enjoyed watching sports on TV, riding his Harley and snowmobiling.  He also liked to go out on his pontoon, fishing, and hunting. Richie will always be remembered for his great sense of humor.

Richie is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth; children, Richard Michaelis, Paul (Vicki) Michaelis, and Lanna (Dan) Uebel; three grandchildren, Allison Fluth, Sabrina Jones, and Morgan Smith; two great-grandchildren; five step grandchildren; and ten step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ella; and many aunts and uncles. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
