John Thompson, age 46, of New Richland and formerly of Faribault, died on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis.
A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. A memorial visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
Arrangements are being completed by the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault.
John was born to Wallace Thompson and Barbara Ponto on November 12, 1971. He attended Faribault High School and worked as an over the road truck driver for Fox Valley Alfalfa Mill. He also worked as a welder. Johnny loved the outdoors, enjoyed grilling and visiting with people.
He is survived by his children, Steven and Keiona Thompson, Courtney Stolp and Lief Grant, two grandsons, Joshua Walters and Ross Rivers; his parents, Barbara (Ponto) Thompson (and Dean Bauernfeind) and Wallace (and Joan) Thompson; three siblings, Gerald Thompson, Paula Thompson, James Thompson; and other relatives.
He is preceded in death by his brother Dean Thompson.
