Husband, father, brother, grandfather, friend and caring, competent and recognized Financial Planner set his spirit free on June 1, 2018.
Born March 30, 1940, to Clarence and Myrtle Moen in Cumberland, WI, along with twin sister, Clarice. Together they weighed less than five pounds and were saved by a Red Wing shoe box, a warm wooden stove, and lots of love. Buzz attended a one-room grade school, then Cumberland High School where academics and sports prevailed. He attended Tulane University (Southeastern Conference) graduating in 1963 with a BBA and darn good grades. Eleven letters in football, basketball and baseball in high school; six letters in baseball and football in college. Cumberland High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Unbeaten in Driveway Basketball!
United in marriage to Jane Burton (deceased) in 1963 and blessed with two wonderful children: Mark (Mindy Mansdorf) and Natasha (James) Suleiman.
Then in 1979, along came Shirley and with her, Buzz was blessed with Jennifer Currier and Sarah (Ronnie) Harris. It took a while, but in 1981 Buzz ‘officially’ became their father. Blended families, a family therapist and the best woman Buzz has ever known (Shirley), provided the greatest life anyone could ask for.
Buzz was an honest and comprehensive Financial Planner for his clients. Partnering with Jim Diede and Tina Diede for 30 years and Tom Luing for nine years was amazing. The care and knowledge of Buzz’s Associates Jean Hurlbert (over 30 years) and Nancy Burns (over 25 years) gave and kept clients financially independent and happy. Recognized by Twin City Business and Minneapolis/St. Paul magazines as a Top Five-Star Wealth Manager in Minnesota for nine years in a row.
Survived by his wife of over 38 years, Shirley, children Mark, Natasha, Jennifer and Sarah, four beautiful grandchildren: Isaiah Harris, Lia, Andrew and Luke Suleiman; brother: Merwin Moen and nieces and nephews. Proceeded in death by parents Clarence and Myrtle Moen, Sister Clarice Linnell, Brother Richard Moen and Granddaughters Sofie and Grace Currier.
