Eloise Kay Jans, age 79, of Brainerd, passed away on Tuesday, February 21 2017, at the St. Cloud Hospital. Eloise was born on November 9, 1937 in Wells, Minnesota to Oscar and Rosella (Proehl) Burmeister.
Eloise married the love of her life, Marlin Jans and together they had four children. Eloise and Butch owned and operated Jans Hardware in Waldorf, Minnesota.They also owned and operated Jans Bus Service.
Eloise loved her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, baking and gardening. Eloise liked to watch Minnesota sports. One of her favorite pastimes was bowling with her bowling team and spending time with friends on the team. She was an active member at her church, Living Savior Lutheran, volunteering and also a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Brett (Leila) Jans of Nisswa, Roxanne (Jim) Hanus of Princeton, Bart (Tammy) Jans of Sioux Falls, SD; brother, Wayne (Connie) Burmeister of Waunekee, WI; grandchildren: Amanda, Joshua, Samantha, Christina, Alyssa, Tara, Logan, Bo, Blake and Bryar; 9 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Butch in November of 2016; daughter, Wendy Huxford.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Living Savior Lutheran Church in Lakeshore, the memorial service for Eloise will be held at 2 p.m..
