Alice R. Sutlief, 89, of Owatonna, died Thursday, December 29, 2016 at The Brooks in Owatonna.
Alice was born January 3, 1927 in New Richland Township, Waseca County, Minnesota the daughter of Otto and Rosamunda (Krause) Neumann. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in New Richland. She attended country school.
Alice was united in marriage to LeRoy Sutlief on February 15, 1948 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in New Richland.
Alice was known for her sewing, which she learned from her mother. She made doll clothes for the granddaughters, along with many quilts and afghans that she gave as gifts to her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Karin (Red) Anderson of Rochester, and Kathy (and Stan) Honsey of Owatonna; 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dorothea Neumann of New Richland; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, LeRoy; son, Charles; three brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be at St. John Lutheran Church, Owatonna on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Owatonna with Pastor Dave Klawiter officiating. Interment will be in the Graceland Cemetery in Albert Lea. Michaelson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
