Janet Walterson passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Ellendale, MN on August 26, 2016. She lived in Ellendale with her husband, Bob, of 38 years.
Jan was born in Winnebago, MN on May 8, 1948 to Willard and Maybell Kraywinkel. Jan spent most of her time as a child and young adult in Monticello, MN. After high school she moved to the Minneapolis area where she lived and worked. She met Bob there, and they were married in 1978. They moved to Ellendale in 2003, where they spent many happy years at their retirement place.
Jan is survived by her husband, Bob; her sister, Judy (Bill) Bellach; sisters and brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 9 at the Cremation Society of MN, 7110 France Ave. S., Edina, MN (952-924-4100). Visitation at 10:30 a.m. A private interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
A separate memorial service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in rural Ellendale on Friday, Sept. 16. The reception will be at 10:30 a.m., the service at 11:00 a.m. and lunch will follow the service.
