A memorial service for Helen M. Supalla will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at All Saints Catholic Church in New Richland, MN. Father Raul Silva will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at a later date. Bonnerup-Friedrich Funeral Home in New Richland is assisting the family.
Helen passed away on Monday, February 29, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. She was 89 years old.
Helen Mae (Schroeder) was born on December 2, 1926 to Alfred and Lena (Ganzkow) Schroeder in Minnesota Lake. She attended and graduated from Minnesota Lake High School. She went on to work for the Veteran’s Administration on Washington D.C. for about a year and a half, until her father passed away and she moved back home.
On November 14, 1946 she was united in marriage to John F. Supalla in Easton, MN. The couple was blessed with three sons. They moved to New Richland in 1949 where John began farming. Helen worked as a homemaker, and also at the New Richland Drug Store for many years. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir and was a part of the Circle.Helen enjoyed many things in life. She was on a women’s bowling league, the director of the Senior Golf League at Riverview Golf Course, and played in many bridge clubs. She used to love to go dancing with her husband John at local ballrooms. Helen enjoyed watching her children grow up, and attended many sporting events that they participated in. Most of all, Helen loved her family. She enjoyed all of the get-togethers the family would have, and cherished every moment she spent with her entire family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; and siblings, Burton and Betty.
Those left to carry on her legacy include her sons, William Supalla and special friend Julie, of Fairmont, Mark (Sharon) Supalla, of Franklin, TN, and Brian (Mary) Supalla, of Beaverton, OR; grandchildren, Daniel, David (Amy), Andrew, Madisyn, Mark (Leah), Elizabeth (Scott), Jesse (Jonathan), Thomas, Kara, Laura, and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Hudson, Flynn, Jude, and Vesper; brothers, Maynard Schroeder, of Lakeville, and Bill Schroeder, of Sacramento, CA; as well as many other loving relatives and friends.
