Peterson, Nora H., passed with peace and grace on April 20, 2015 of natural causes at the age of 96. She had been living in the Atlanta, GA area. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Russell Peterson, and her daughter, Jeanne Peterson Tukua. Nora is survived by her son, Jon Peterson, of Arizona, grandchildren Erik and Kirk Tukua of Georgia, Nate Peterson of Ohio, and Stacey Peterson Thomas of Colorado. She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Nora was born and raised in Hartland, MN by her parents, Martin and Selma Jacobson. Nora had one younger brother, Warren, and two older sisters, Anna Mae and Alvina. Nora met Russ and settled in New Richland after their marriage in 1939 and raised their two children while owning and managing Peterson’s Grocery Store in New Richland for many years. They later moved to Detroit Lakes, MN until retiring to Ft. Myers, FL for 25 years. Following Russ’ health decline, Nora and Russ moved to the Atlanta area with their daughter, Jeanne, and her family.Nora will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who was always the life of the party because she loved telling jokes and making people laugh. Her family meant so much to her as she did to them. She will be greatly missed.
