Lois died on January 27, 2015 in Winter Haven, FL. She was 75 years old.
Lois was born on April 21, 1939 to Raymond and Agnes (Olson) Brandvold in Waseca, MN. She was a lifetime member of LeSueur River Lutheran Church, where she was baptized, confirmed, and married. She attended country school around New Richland, and later graduated from New Richland High School where she met her best friend and now sister in-law, Barb Loken Clausen. After school, she received her degree from Secretarial School in Mankato. Lois married the love of her life, Ronald Clausen, on July 9, 1960 at the LeSueur River Lutheran Church. The couple moved to California, where Ronald was stationed in the military. A year later, the couple moved back to New Richland, the place they will always call home. Lois worked as an Executive Secretary for E.F. Johnson in Waseca for over 35 years.
In her free time, Lois enjoyed playing cards with her “Card Club” every Tuesday. She also enjoyed bingo, baking and canning, painting and ceramics, and photography. She kept vast collections of photos that she took in chronological order. Traveling was a very important part of her life, making regular trips to Las Vegas, Florida to visit her daughter, and on various cruises. She was a true Norwegian woman; so true she even enjoyed the taste of lutefisk! She was known for beaming smile; always applying fresh lipstick, which Lois thought could fix anything. “Oh you’ll be fine, just put some lipstick on and deal with it!” the grandchildren recall her saying. Most of all, Lois loved her family. She cherished every moment she had with her children, grandchildren and great-grandson. The love shown to her husband was one-of-a-kind. 54 years of marriage, and the couple was still deeply in love. They would often talk on the phone to one another, and would hold hands every chance they could. They never hesitated to tell each other “Love Ya Much,” which her family now continues to say. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.Lois is preceded in death by her parents; son, Daryl Clausen; and an aunt, Evelyn Olson.
Carrying on her legacy is her husband of 54 years, Ronald; daughter, Kyndra Rein; grandchildren, Callie Clausen, Alex Rein, and Hailie Clausen; great-grandson, Apollo Robledo Clausen; Callie and Haile’s mother, Patti Clausen; as well as many cousins and other loving relatives.
