Paul Alan Aronson, beloved brother and uncle, passed away at his home in Ellendale on September 17, 2014 at the age of 62. Funeral services for Paul will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at First Lutheran Church in Ellendale. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Reverend Richard Sliper will be officiating. Interment will be in First Lutheran Cemetery.
Paul was born October 9, 1951 in Owatonna, the third of six children to Joyce and Phyllis Aronson. He graduated from Ellendale-Geneva High School in 1969. Paul attended St. Cloud State University and graduated in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science degree in History and Geography. Paul loved history and it was a favorite topic and activity: be it family, local, state or national history. To this end, he traveled to many of our national parks to see and learn more about them. Some of his favorite adventures were to the solemn battlefields of Gettysburg, PA, the colonial era of Williamsburg, the revolutionary towns of New England, and the natural splendor of the American west. All of these places were a wonderful connection to our history for Paul.Paul had a musical nature and played the baritone in high school, college, and several community bands and church groups. He also had a lovely singing voice and loved to listen to Pavarotti and the four tenors.
The Boy Scouts of America were important to Paul; he was a scout leader for several years and loved to go camping with the scouts. He was writing a history of the local Boy Scout troops and member recollections.
Paul worked at Viracon in the Curvelite Division for 35 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Phyllis and Joyce Aronson; brother, Jon Aronson; aunt, Doris Wentland; uncles, Chester and George Gardner; grandparents, Hannah and Carl Aronson and Alta and George W. Gardner.
