Dale Franklin Hansen, 48, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at his home in Owatonna.
He was born December 11, 1964 in Owatonna, Minnesota the son of LaVerne and Marlene (Wencl) Hansen. He graduated from Owatonna High School in 1983. After high school, Dale worked at Happy Chef and Hart’s Bakery. He then went to work at Lakeside Foods where he worked his way up to Sanitation Supervisor. Dale worked there for over 27 years until a year ago when his health began to deteriorate.
He was a member of the Elks, Eagles, and Redeemer Lutheran Church. Dale loved to fish and enjoyed helping his mother with the vegetable gardens. He always put others before himself and would make sure everyone had wonderful holidays.He is survived by his two sisters, Diane (and Al) Humphries of Waseca, LaJean Ulestad of Owatonna; daughter, Diane Hansen of Owatonna; niece and nephews, Jeremy Hansen, Raymond Humphries, Katie (and Joseph) Vierling-Davis, and James (and Beth) Vierling; brother-in-law, Toby Vierling; aunts, Lucille Svotos of Tower, Regina Wacek of Blooming Prairie, Joan Pirkl of Medford, and Gladys Bedney of Owatonna.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Raymond, and sister, Cynthia Vierling.
The family would like to give a special “thank you” to George and Faye Dettman for their love, care and support given to Dale over the past year.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday, November 15, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. and at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church with The Reverend Warren Schmidt officiating. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery in Bixby.
