Eileen Dorothy, the daughter of George and Marie (Weise) Oldenburg, was born on September 3, 1925. She attended Pemberton High School and graduated with academic honors in the class of 1943. On November 13, 1943, Eileen was united in marriage to Wilmer “Bud” Bittner at the St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in St. Clair. After their marriage they moved to their Vivian Township farm just Southwest of Waldorf and were fortunate enough to live there for over sixty years. Besides supporting her husband on the farm and raising her children Larry and Judy, Eileen worked many jobs outside the house including, E.F. Johnson, Sears and most recently was a head cook at the Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton School in Waldorf.

Eileen enjoyed traveling, sewing, making quilts, cooking collecting all sorts of spoons and scrapbooking. She loved to try new recipes and always noted who did and who did not like each one. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School and Bible School at church for many years. She was very active in the Ladies Aide until health problems started limiting her abilities. Eileen also enjoyed sending birthday cards, hand written notes, newspaper clippings as well as inspirational articles to family and friends. She will always be remembered for her kind thoughts and the considerations she showed over the years to all of her family and friends. Following Bud’s death on April, 18, 2010, Eileen moved to Hudson, Wisconsin that same December to be closer to family.
