Funeral Services for Christopher Robert Gary Besser, of New Richland, will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 15, 2013 at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Richland. The Reverend Scott Williams and the Reverend Paul Andree will officiate. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, at Friedrich Funeral Home, and one hour before the service at the church.
Christopher died at his home on Thursday, April 11, 2013 after a short valiant battle with cancer. He was 40.
He was born on January 30, 1973, in Albert Lea, the son of Kenneth and Linda (Arnold) Besser. He graduated from New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva High School with the class 1991.
Chris married Dayna Stenzel on December 21, 1996 and to this union two daughters were born, Mikayla and Morgan. They were later divorced.
He farmed with Randy Lewer, Jeffrey and Rodney Wayne, and then with Randy and Chuck Hagen for the last 20 years. He worked for Arnold’s Drywall for many years.
He most recently worked for Bird’s Eye and had driven sweet corn truck and semi for Darrol Sponberg.
Chris owned and operated Besser Snow Removal for more than 11 years.
Chris enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and collecting John Deere Toys.
He will be greatly missed by his children Mikayla and Morgan Besser and their mother Dayna of New Richland, his mother Linda Besser of New Richland, brother Curt Besser of Freeborn, MN; nieces Star and Tarynn Besser of Freeborn, MN; aunts Janice Olson of Ellendale and Lois Arnold of New Richland; cousins and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Besser, his grandparents, Robert and Rosella Besser, Merton Arnold and Ethel Arnold; and uncles Vernon Olson, Gary Arnold and Rodney Arnold.
