Clinton Wayne Bluhm, age 79 of Waseca, died on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Homestead Hospice in Owatonna.

Born at his parents’ home on August 15, 1933, Clinton was the son of Martin and Dorothy (Young) Bluhm.  He attended school in Waldorf when he was young. Following his graduation he served in the U.S. Army from 1954 until his honorable discharge as a Corporal in 1956.

Clinton married Shirley Witt at the First Lutheran Church in Waldorf on November 1, 1956. Clinton went to work for Iverson Construction and later went on to work at the Waseca Co-Op Creamery. He then sold stainless steel cookware for the West Bend Company for 18 years before beginning his own business, C & D Recycling. Clinton finally retired at age 70. He enjoyed reading, spending time with his children and grandchildren, fishing, traveling, playing cards, and gardening. He was a member of American Legion Post #228 in Waseca, and was also a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca.

Clinton is survived by his wife, Shirley of Waseca; four children, Robin (Jane) Bluhm, Jody Bluhm and special friend Dorie Dillon, and Tommy Bluhm all of Waseca and Amy Roesler of Lakeville; eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren; four siblings, Karen (Roger) Vangnesa of Rochester, Claudette (Brian) Swenson of St. Peter, Gary Bluhm of Waseca, and Larry (Becky) Bluhm of Albert Lea. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; one son, Paul; one sister, Cleone Bluhm; two brothers, Bill and John Bluhm and by his daughter-in-law, Jeri Bluhm, who passed away only five days before Clinton.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca and will continue one hour before the service at the church on Thursday.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca, with Rev. Giles Zimmer officiating.  Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca. dennisfuneralhomes.com.
