The funeral service for Margaret Corrine Toft will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 29, 2012 at Grace Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Pastor Andrea Myers will officiate. Interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-6 on Sunday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, as well as one hour prior to the service at church.
Margaret Toft passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Thorne Crest Retirement Center. She was 80 years old.
Margaret was born on June 16, 1932 in Joliet, IL. The daughter of Art and Rose Jacobson, she graduated from Freeborn High School, and was a Freeborn County resident for most of her life. On August 11, 1951 she married James Toft in Hartland. Together they raised four children.Margaret was a homemaker and a gifted seamstress. She loved to sew, owning a shop in Austin and Albert Lea. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she was in the Altar Guild, church circle, and quilting group. She enjoyed knitting, puzzles, games, coffee with neighbors, and her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James; and parents, Art and Rose.
Margaret is survived by her children, Robert Toft of Albert Lea, Sharleen (Bryan) Olson of Winona, Allan (Debra) Toft of Albert Lea, and Linda (Jeff) Battey of New Richland; grandchildren, Jennifer (Nate) Neubauer of New Ulm, Matthew (Ashley Hansen) Olson of Anchorage, Alaska, Andy Olson of St Cloud, Patrick (Jill Thompson) Toft of Albert Lea, Corrine (Eagan) Mattson of Conger, Jameson Toft of Albert Lea, Michelle Battey of Owatonna, Paulette (Jason) Foley of Minnesota Lake, Nichole (Dan) Burns of Owatonna, Jeff R. Battey of Mankato, and Eric Battey of New Ulm; great grandchildren, Autumn and Brielle Neubauer, William and Mason Toft, Jayden Battey, Gavin Foley, and Talon and Owen Burns; brothers, Joe Erickson and Everett Jacobson; nieces and nephews; and other loving relatives and friends.
