Remembering the life of Lenore G. Finseth…
Funeral Services for Lenore G. Finseth, of New Richland, MN, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Richland. The Reverend Paul Andree will officiate. Interment will be in St. Olaf Cemetery, New Richland. Visitation will be from 4-7 on Wednesday at Friedrich Funeral Home, New Richland, and one hour before the service at the church.
Lenore passed away Sunday, October 7, 2012 at the New Richland Care Center. She was 94.
She was born on May 16, 1918, on the family farm near Hartland, MN, the daughter of Nels and Clara (Sibilrud) Hatle. She graduated from Freeborn High School and from Business School in Minneapolis and then worked in Albert Lea and in California during the War.She was united in marriage to Kenneth P. Finseth on August 4, 1946 in Hartland.
They lived in New Richland for a short time and then farmed her family farm west of Hartland until 1963 when they returned to New Richland.
Lenore worked some outside the home, including at Fox Inn and E.F Johnson, but her greatest joy was always in taking care of her family and their friends. She is remembered fondly by all for baking everyone’s favorites and being ready to listen about their lives. Lenore always had time for conversation whether about hers or others grandchildren and families, sports from the Twins to the Olympics, or her interest in politics. She loved making quilts for others, embroidery, antique hunting, and attending sports events to watch her children and grandchildren.
She was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in New Richland where she enjoyed Ladies Circle and quilting, and was a long time member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Lenore is survived by three children: Barbara Finseth of New Richland, James (Saundra) Finseth of Albert Lea, Bradley (Brenda) Finseth, of Rochester, MN; grandchildren: Adam (Tara) Finseth of Savage, MN, Amber (Austin) Smith of Lexington, Kentucky, Jayna Finseth of Albert Lea and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth in 2008, her twin sister Lucille in infancy, her sisters Ardis (Tony) Madson and Ruby (Wilburt) Wagner; her brothers: Orville (Antoinette) Hatle, Noel (Dorothy) Hatle and Ellsworth Hatle; brothers and sisters-in-law: Loren Finseth in infancy, Gladys and Marvin Kibler, Arnold and Margaret Finseth.
Lenore will be remembered for her warm smile and how she loved and cared for her family. Blessed be her memory!
