Ten members of the NRHEG FFA traveled to the St. Paul Campus of the University of Minnesota April 28-30 for the 90th Minnesota State FFA Convention.

While there, they attended workshops put on by people like the current Southern Region Vice-President Jordan Stowe, compete in contests, and participate in other events. On Sunday, Dacoda Malakowsky, Tylar Malakowsky, and Brady Schaak participated in the Best Informed Greenhand contest. This contest is basically an FFA knowledge contest and consists of a 100 question multiple-choice test. Dacoda led the team with a gold rating. Tylar had a silver rating and Brady earned a bronze rating.

Another team competing was the Small Animal & Vet Science team. Armed with knowledge of numerous small animal species the team of Holly Stene, Elizabeth Karl, Jordan Horejsi, and Lexi Ignaszewsi took home a 19th-place finish and a gold rating. The team was lead by Holly and Liz who each earned gold as well with Jordan and Lexie each earning a silver rating.

Tiara Malakowsky spent the majority of the convention serving as a MN FFA Foundation Ambassador. The Foundation, which is responsible for raising thousands of dollars every year to support FFA activities is tasked with the job of showing off the FFA to the organizations sponsors and supporters. Tiara was part of that goodwill connection as she represented the FFA and the Foundation by working with these valuable individuals.  Tiara was also recognized on Monday night for her FFA activities by receiving the State FFA Degree which, is the highest degree the state can bestow on its members.

Aubrey Fischer was also busy on Monday night as she participated in the State FFA Band as a percussionist.  Aubrey had to learn a number of different musical pieces in a very short amount of time and be ready to preform both Monday and Tuesday in front of the crowd of nearly 4,000 FFA members, advisors, and guests.  Finally, Jager Beck served his role for the FFA as a member of the Courtesy Corp.  These individuals help run the convention from behind the scenes serving in many different roles.  All together it was a good experience for all involved.
