It will all be over soon. Voters will go to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 8 to cast their ballots.
Several area towns have — for a change — interesting races for some offices. But that’s not the case in the City of New Richland. Three people are running for three open city council seats. Angela Gehrke has announced a write-in campaign after noone filed for mayor.
In Ellendale, incumbent Duane Goebel, former mayor Steve Engel and former city councilman Dick Lassahn are running for two council seats.
In Hartland, three candidates are running for mayor, Debra Flatness, Nathan Baseman and Zachary Jacobson. Running for two council seats are incumbent Linda Pederson, Nancy Toot and Gordon Jensen.
There’s a two-man race for mayor of Geneva between incumbent Steve Bailey and Tim Gassmann. Four candidates are running for two council seats, incumbents Taff Worrell and Jannell Tufte, Susan Phillips and Christopher George.
In Clarks Grove, incumbent Bruce Hansen is running unopposed for mayor and incumbents Carolyn Weller and Dick Nelson are running unopposed for city council.
In Waldorf, incumbent mayor Bruce Urbatch is seeking re-election, challenged by Alain Jordan Graham. Running for four-year council terms are incumbent Kevin Lines, Dave Bottin and Howard Cordes. Incumbents Jim Majeski and Gary Burmeister did not file. Paul Alvin Arndt and Missy Sorbo will compete in a special election for a two-year term.
There will be a race for the District 1 Waseca County Commissioner seat between longtime incumbent Jim Peterson and area farmer Doug Christopherson.
