Bank to match donations 5-to-1 to finish Washburn House project
There has been a great deal of progress on the Old Washburn House building on Main Street in the months since the State Bank of New Richland donated the building to the Area Food Shelf of New Richland.
Many hours of labor have been donated by area residents and student classes from NRHEG throughout the spring to begin this renovation project.
The roof has been repaired and the interior of the building has been cleaned out and is ready for the next phase of the project.
The State Bank of New Richland has announced a matching gift program to raise funds to assist in this next phase.
The bank is challenging our community to contribute what they can to continue this renovation to enable the food shelf and the New Richland Area Historical Society to call this building their permanent home. Donations received to the Building Renovation Fund will be matched on a 5-to-1 basis, which means that a $50 donation will result in a donation of $250 from the State Bank, up to $20,000.“We feel that these two organizations are very worthy of our consideration. We hope that the community feels the same way and through this gift program we can all help the food shelf raise funds to continue their building renovation,” says Kristi Harrington, president of the bank. This matching gift program will run from Aug. 15 to Oct. 15, 2015. Donations should be made out to NRAFS Building Renovation and can be mailed to P.O. Box 186, New Richland, MN 56072. Donations can also be dropped off at the State Bank of New Richland.
