If you want to meet somebody you haven't seen lately, the place to go is the Steele County Fair, which will be held the third week in August this year.
With that thought in mind the Ellendale High School Class of 1970 plans to gather for their 45th class reunion on Saturday, August 22. Members of the class are encouraged to gather at the Spare Time Bowling Party Room in Owatonna, which is just south of the Fairgrounds, from 3-6 that afternoon. The bar and grill at the bowling alley will be open that day and will have a room ready for the class members to gather. Jim Motz reports they have a nice bar, patio and a great grill menu at the bowling alley if people want to order something to eat.
The reunion is not just limited to members of the Ellendale High School class of 1970. Friends and teachers of the class are encouraged and invited to attend. The reunion organizers are hoping many classmates and friends will come and spend time and reminiscence about those "good old days at Ellendale" as well as share news about children and grandchildren, jobs and vacations.If you have questions, contact Motz, at This email address is being protected from spambots. They hope that many people from the area will pass along this information, especially with those who have children who graduated in 1970. It is always difficult to contact people who you don't often hear from or see, especially now with the number of people who have cell phones.
The organizers are having problems contacting former classmates Charlene Kuiper, Connie Menefee, Jane Mumm, Janice Jensen, Jon Berg, LaVada Munson, Pat Dixon, Roger Wangsness, Ron Kubicek, Sandi Robertson, Stella Kruesel, Suzanne Wilker and Chuck Pence.
