Al Batt to present book at NR Library
On Wednesday, February 26 at 7 p.m., the New Richland Public Library, with the help of an Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund grant, will proudly host Al Batt, who will be presenting his first book, “Life Gone to the Birds.” The book will also be available for purchase. This event is open to the public, and everyone is encouraged to attend.
Cancer support group to meet February 24
ALBERT LEA, Minn. — Lisa Wenzel, OTR/I, CLT, Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea and Austin will present the Exercise and the Cancer Patient program at Mayo Clinic Health System’s Cancer Support Group at 6 p.m. Monday, February 24, in Room 20 on the lower level of the medical center in Albert Lea. The group strives to provide support, hope and friendship to the cancer family: patient, caregivers, family members and all those touched by cancer. The 20th Annual Horticulture Day is March 8 at the Southern Research and Outreach Center in Waseca. The event begins with 8:30 a.m. registration. Pre-registration is required by Feb. 26. Women’s Health Care Symposium Feb. 22
ALBERT LEA, Minn. — The 6th Annual “Women’s Health Care Symposium” is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Feb. 22 at Wedgewood Cove, 2200 W. 9th St., Albert Lea. Doors open at 8 a.m. Hear speakers from Mayo Clinic Health System talk about heart disease, women and depression, and the Mediterranean diet.
