The New Richland Area Foundation Fund made its second round of grant announcements during the April 22 New Richland City Council meeting.
There for the announcement were NRAFF Grants Committee members Kermit Schoenrock, Pam Goehring, Matt Harrington and Gail Schmidt.
A total of four grants amounting to $3,500 were announced.
They were:
• $1,000 — Dave Dunnette representing the Sportsman’s Club for improvements being made to the pavilion at St. Olaf Lake Park.
• $500 — Avis Rugroden, Barb Finseth and Joan Proehl, members of the Town and Country Garden Club for improvements to be made down at the Garden on Hwy. 30.• $1,000 — Jennie Johnson representing the Ambulance Department for a radio update.
• $1,000 — Cadette Girl Scout Troup #23601 for improvements to be made to the Volleyball Courts at Legion Field.
Johnson thanked the various groups for taking interest in these City improvements and applying for these grants.
“I think the City Council is very fortunate to have these groups of people taking interest in improvements needed and to pursue funds, provide the manpower and to see these improvements through,” said Johnson. “We are all very lucky to have such people.”
