Want to get to know your Waseca County Commissioner candidates? Here’s your chance.
The New Richland Sportsman’s Club will host a candidate forum Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m., sponsored by the Waseca County Corn and Soybean Growers Association.
The only contested race is in the First District, covering the southeast portion of Waseca County. The candidates are incumbent Jim Peterson and Jody Wynnemer.“We felt it’s time to look beyond the lawn signs to learn about the candidates,” said Leon Schoenrock, who’s helping organize the event. “These guys that run for commissioner, nobody knows much about them, what they stand for. We’re doing this to help people find out.” Candidates will answer questions prepared in advance concerning agricultural issues. The public is invited to ask more questions.
“Anybody can come with any questions about the county’s business,” said Schoenrock.
The NR Sportsmen’s Club is located on Hwy. 13, across the highway from Legion Field.
