In New Richland, voters will choose between Christine Gislason and Jacob Papinski for the office of mayor. Gislason is a current member of the city council. Incumbent Mayor Tom McShane did not file for reelection.

There are three candidates for two city council positions in New Richland. Incumbent Tony Martens is seeking reelection. Sandy Neumann and John Hullopeter are also running.

In Ellendale, Roger Swearingen is the only person to file for mayor. Incumbent Steve Engel is not running.

As in New Richland, three are vying for two Ellendale council seats, incumbent Duane Goebel, Steve Hackett and Dick Lassahn. Incumbent councilman Gene Helland is not seeking reelection.

Also on the ballot in Ellendale is a measure to allow the sale of Sunday liquor at the Municipal Liquor Store, for consumption on the premises, in conjunction with the sale of food.
